In 2014, the E-Submission System was rolled out for the Student Financial Assistance Agency (SFAA), a government authority in Hong Kong that administers publicly-funded financial assistance schemes and scholarships for students. The E-Submission System now facilitates students in electronically accomplishing and submitting applications for Grant/Loan under Tertiary Student Finance Assistance Scheme – Publicly-funded Programs (TSFS), and Non-means-tested Loan Scheme for Full-time Tertiary Students (NLSFT), both offered by SFAA. Web forms have a rich set of user-interface elements to capture required data such as text fields, drop-down menus, option or list boxes, buttons, etc. The system guides the applicants through the entire application process through a progress meter, which shows the series of steps for submitting application forms online. The system validates the correct format of information on data fields while checking if all mandatory information has been given by the applicant. E-Submission also allows uploading of supporting documents for applications, while automatically checking file size and type, launching a virus scan, and can enforce bandwidth restrictions.  The E-Submission System is integrated in MyGovHK, the official portal of the Hong Kong Government where the public can access and avail of a wide range of government services.
