The Technical Writer bridges the gap between the software developers, the sales and marketing team, and the clients. He/She has to understand complex and technical information provided by the developer team in order to create user manuals and training materials that would be easily understood by the Sales & Marketing team, the Product Support Specialists, and the Clients of the Company. He/She must do hands-on research and study technical content in order to translate the complex information into a clear, concise, and structured document.
He/She must be able to analyze, interpret, simplify and communicate technical information.
Responsibilities
- Compose, edit, and format manuals, user guides, in-app guides, tutorials to explain complex and technical information into simpler language for the intended audience
- Work closely with the product development team to ensure the accuracy of the content you create and develop
- Design the layout and structure of documents
- Proofread existing user manuals and ensure the information is accurate for the target version
- Produce product screenshots needed by internal and external clients
Qualifications
- Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree
- Has a good grasp of English grammar
- Capable of quickly learning new technical skills
- Can multitask and has very high attention to details
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
- Can comply with daily and weekly deadlines
- Proficient in desktop applications and software including MS Office, Paint or other photo editing software, iOS, Android, Windows, and Mac
