The Mobile Information System (MISC) was developed for the Hong Kong Telecom. MISC is a sophisticated real-time Value-Added Service for GSM and UNITACS cellular phones. The system connected to real-time data providers (e.g. stock exchanges, banks) and offered value-added information processing services for individual mobile phone subscribers, such as allowing subscribers to access and retrieve real-time information on stocks, forex, indices, lottery results, weather and flight, and news.
